Kochi: A judge intervened in real time to hand over the person who beat up a lawyer in Nadu Road to the police. Lawyer Leo Lucas was beaten while going to court at 10 am on Ernakulam Fourshore Road. Following this, Justice N Nagaresh intervened in the incident.
Jijo Sebastian, a resident of Thodupuzha, who had beaten up his lawyer, was abducted by an accompanying policeman and handed over to the police. It is alleged that Leo Lucas’ car was hit by a car driven by Jijo but did not stop. Jijo got out of the car in front of the car, grabbed the key in his hand and slammed it into Leo’s ear. According to the complaint, he was thrown in the car.
The preliminary conclusion is that the lawyer who was injured in the beating had a hearing loss. He was admitted to a private hospital in Ernakulam. Ernakulam Central police registered an FIR in the case. CCTV footage of the incident came out.
