Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has won the Champawat by-election. It won with a majority of 55,025 votes. This is the first time in Uttarakhand that a leader has won by such a large majority. Congress leader Nirmala Gehotori got only 3233 votes. Kailash Gehtori, who won in Champawat to contest the February elections in Khattima, has resigned.

BJD’s Alaka Mohanty won the Brajrajnagar Assembly constituency in Odisha with a majority of 59,601 votes. Opponents were BJP’s Radharani Panda and Congress’ Kishore Patel. The by-poll was held following the death of BJD MLA Kishore Mohanty.
