High-speed train derails in southern China One was killed and eight were injured. The accident happened Saturday in Rongjiang County, Guizhou Province.
Local media reported that debris from the landslide was on the track. The train was hit by this. The train conductor was rushed to hospital with serious injuries but died. A crew member was also among the injured.
The remaining 136 passengers were evacuated safely. Authorities said further investigation into the incident was underway. In 2011, 40 people were killed when another train collided with a high-speed train near Wenzhou in Zhejiang Province. About 200 people were injured that day. This is the first accident after this.
