Former Australia cricketer Shane Watson has suggested that Australia’s fast bowler Jose Hazlewood should be given more opportunities in the Australia T20 squad.
Hazelwood has played successfully for Chennai Super Kings (2021) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (2022) in IPL history. He also bowled well in the 2021 T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates. It is noteworthy that Australia won the trophy.
Former Australian cricketer Shane Watson says of Jose Hazlewood:
I always thought of him as a Test or one-day cricket bowler. Because the T20 needs more variations. But over the years he has developed into an incredible T20 bowler. He played for the CSK team in 2021 which was the biggest good fortune before the 2021 World Cup. He is currently Australia’s best T20 bowler. There is no doubt about it.
Hazelwood has nothing new to do when playing on home soil. His strong tactics of yorker, slow ball and stock ball are enough.
The pitch in Australia will be a little slow. So the balls he throws at his lentils are very effective. He should be given more opportunities in the Australia T20 squad. The team will be very strong when Pat Cummins and Mitchell Stark join him.
