Kozhikode: An accused has been arrested for breaking into his own house in Kozhikode Pariyangad block and stealing his father’s savings. Babu’s son Appoos was arrested in Punathil. The incident came to a dramatic end after the Mavoor police conducted an investigation into the theft last Friday.
Last Friday, when no one was at home, his son’s planned burglary in his own house. When the father and mother went to work, they left the wife at their house and broke into the house and stole the money from the father’s cupboard. The accused stole Rs 50,000 from his house. Sinesh, who is in debt, had earlier committed theft from home. Realizing that the family did not know this, they went back to the exact same thing.
The accused was wearing shoes larger than his own, sprinkled with chili powder and deliberately left his shoes in the backyard to create the impression that he was an outsider. The paper cover was worn on the hand to prevent fingerprinting. After confessing, the accused showed the police the money he had hidden and the blade used to break the lock. The accused, who was in remand, was released on bail by the police for three days.
