In May, 25,075 new vehicles were delivered in Israel, a decrease of 6.4% compared to May last year. This is according to the licensing data. In January-May, 128,085 vehicles were delivered, a decrease of 11% compared to the corresponding period. The decrease is mainly due to the lack of inventory of new vehicles in Israel and the automotive industry in general and not due to demand, which remains stronger than ever.
Dedication of electric vehicles in January-May amounted to about 8100 units, a share of about 6.3% of the total market, compared to a share of less than 4% in 2021. This is despite significant delays in the production and supply of electric vehicles and very long waiting times, including At Tesla.
Hyundai led the overall dedication in January-May with 26,527 dedications, an increase of 10% compared to the same period last year. In second place is Toyota with 20,894 dedications, an increase of 4%. In third place is Kia with 19,205 dedication, an increase of 10%. In fourth place is Mazda with 8,851 8% increase dedication.
