Microsoft today announced the availability of the 22H2 edition of Windows 11 for Windows Insider members for the company’s beta testers.
The new version is released on the Release Preview channel, which means that it is only a few months before it reaches public launch and becomes official: “Today we make Windows 11, version 22H2 Build 22621 available on the Release Preview channel for Windows Insider A program for business participants to test on computers in their organizations. “
Microsoft has not said about the expected innovations, but these have already been found in various versions over the past few months. Among other things, Windows 11 22H2 will offer an updated start menu with folder support and an option for more convenient arrangement and management, the new file explorer that will have favorites and shortcuts, and the taskbar will return the option to ‘drag and drop’. There are a few more polishes in the user interface alongside more extended support for Android apps and of course fixing various bugs.
It is not yet clear when the final release will be and it seems that Microsoft is less rigid than it used to be when it comes to scheduling updates. Yes the company recently published a hardware compatibility guide for update 22H2, which aims to help developers prepare their apps for the new version, with a deadline of September 5, 2022. The update is likely to be available to the general public until after that date.
