Alok Kumar Chaudhary has been appointed Managing Director of State Bank of India, also known as SBI.
Alok Kumar, who took over as Probationary Officer at SBI Bank in 1987, has assumed the post of Managing Director after 35 years holding various key responsibilities.
He will work directly under SBI Bank Chairman Dinesh Kumar Kara. Along with him, Swaminathan Janagraman, Salla Srinivasu Chetty and Aswini Kumar Tiwari are also managing directors of SBI Bank.
Alok Kumar will be the Managing Director for two years. He has beaten 29 general managers for the position and won the interview.
Alok Kumar has previously held the position of Deputy Managing Director, Finance, SBI Bank, including retail and operations. He has been the Managing Director of SBI Bank since June 7.
Along with SBI’s Chaudhry, Union Bank of India, Indian Overseas Bank, Punjab and Sindh Bank have also announced changes in their senior leadership.

Ajay Kumar Srivastava has been appointed Managing Director and CEO of Indian Overseas Bank.
