Hapoel Haifa announced tonight (Wednesday) another strengthening for the 2022/23 season: Amit Meir signed for two years with Nir Klinger’s team, through his agent Idan Ben Abu, and in fact this will be the third team in which Meir will cooperate with the coach, who also coached him at Maccabi Petah Tikva and Hapoel Tel Aviv.
Meir is the fifth strengthening player to join Hapoel Haifa this summer, after Gidi Kaniuk who returned for a second term at the club, foreigners Andrei Miron and Kwame Kavi as well as the Jewish-Ukrainian Ilya Markovsky. The Reds-Blacks have signed more players from any team in the Premier League so far, and with the fresh acquisition have left behind newcomer Benny Reina, who has added four players ahead of the upcoming season.
Hapoel Haifa owner Yoav Katz said in response to the addition of the 21-year-old full-back, who has made seven appearances for the Israeli youth team: “We are happy to add a young and talented player to our ranks as part of refreshing the team.”
