Apple’s film division, Apple Original Films, has acquired the rights to create a new and intriguing Formula 1 film that has garnered a host of huge stars: the lead actor in the new film will be Brad Pitt, on the throne producing producer Jerry Brockheimer, who also produced “Days of Thunder” In 1989, and together with Chad Oman also produced “Pirates of the Caribbean”. The sensitive directing work was entrusted to none other than Joseph Kosinski, the director of the sequel to Top Gun: Maverick, while the script will be written by Arn Kruger, whose name you will find on three of the “Transformers” films (Rahmana Litzlen).
For now, the title and plot of the film are not openly known. Therefore, it is not clear whether Pete will get on the overalls and be called upon to recreate a specific championship year related to events that took place in reality, or to participate in a sort of imaginary world championship. Those close to the venture claim that the 58-year-old Pete will play an experienced racing driver who returns from retirement to take under his wing a young and promising driver, in an effort to make him the best in the championship.
The film’s budget is around $ 140 million, according to US media reports. For characters from the world of animation, he specifically participated in a Pixar production in the movie “Cars 2” about ten years ago.
For Pete this is a project very close to his heart. The American player’s fondness for motor sports is well known among his colleagues and he strives to reach a great many car races, from all categories. Pete was involved in the development of the character of a close relative for the movie “Ford vs. Ferrari” starring Matt Damon and Christian Bale a few years ago.
In a footnote, it is worth adding that for Apple this is a significant achievement, having managed to overtake larger streaming services including Netflix, Amazon and even the top studios in America, Sony, Paramount and MGM who submitted heavy bids to get the film production rights.
