Yambu: Extreme temperatures are expected in some parts of Saudi Arabia until Saturday, confirming the Meteorological Department’s forecast of warming in some parts of the country. Extreme temperatures will continue until Saturday in the eastern provinces of the country, including Riyadh, Mecca and Medina, the Meteorological Agency said in a report released on Wednesday. The epicenter was reported below the Pacific Ocean floor, however; no tsunami alert was issued. Fog may form over the southern part of the Red Sea.

Dammam will receive 48 degrees Celsius, al-Ahsa and Hafr al-Batwin 49 degrees Celsius, Riyadh 46 degrees Celsius, Makkah, Madinah and Buraidah 45 degrees Celsius and Jeddah 37 degrees Celsius. Authorities warned everyone to be careful not to get sunburned in hot weather. The Ministry of Health has reminded people to drink plenty of water and consume more liquid beverages to prevent dehydration and to protect themselves from possible diseases.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has banned people from working outside from 12 noon to 3 pm from June 15 to September 15. This is to avoid fatigue and other hazards caused by direct sun exposure. Authorities had earlier warned that stern action would be taken against individuals and companies who hired workers during the ban.
