The images of his fight went around the world via social networks. The end is tragic. Simiso Buthelezi died on the evening of Tuesday June 7, following his fight delivered on Sunday June 5 against his compatriot Siphesihle Mntungwa on behalf of the WBF Africa lightweight belt. The South African Boxing Federation has confirmed the information. Hard hit by a blow from his opponent, the 24-year-old boxer found himself knocked out standing, fighting in the void and against a ring post, not knowing where he was and where Siphesihle Mntungwa was. Stopped by the referee, Simiso Buthelezi collapsed shortly after and was transferred to hospital. A cerebral hemorrhage had been diagnosed and the South African had been placed in an artificial coma.
