MUMBAI: The rupee depreciated by 6 paise against the US dollar in early trade on Thursday.

Currency sources said:

The outflow of foreign investors from the Indian stock market and the rise in crude oil prices have had an impact on the rupee.

In that sense, the rupee was trading at 77.74 against the dollar in early trade on Thursday. At one point in the trade, the value fell to an all-time low of 77.81.

At the end of the day, the rupee depreciated by 6 paise to 77.74 against the dollar.

Crude oil barrel 123 dollars

Brent crude was trading at $ 123.29 a barrel in early trade on Thursday, according to market sources.

1,512 crore worth of shares sold

Foreign financial institutions sold shares worth Rs 1,512.64 crore on a net basis in the capital market on Thursday, according to market data.
