Jason Alexander is breathing heavily as he runs across his ex-wife’s 1,000 square foot mansion. The camera shakes so much that the pool’s blue water blurs with the leaves of the trees Alexander is struggling through to Britney Spears’ home. He films live on Instagram, the celebrity website TMZ cuts – as usual with presence of mind. Alexander reaches the back entrance, pushes open an unlocked door, sprints up one flight of stairs, then the next. He has already made it to the long gallery above the pompous entrance area when suddenly a voice from the side says: “You have to leave!” You have to go.
Jason Alexander was married to the pop star for 55 hours in 2004. Today he says: Spears’ family forced the two to quickly annul the wedding, for him it was true love. That could be one of the reasons why, on the day of the wedding, Alexander calls out to the security man: “Hey, where’s Britney? Tell me the truth: Where’s Britney?” He opens a double door, with so little air in his lungs that he can hardly speak. His camera catches another security man, who already has his hand on his gun and is nervously shifting from one foot to the other. Britney Spears, in the midst of preparing for her third wedding, is not there.
It is not clear how Alexander manages to escape the security men, but a little later he films himself in the villa’s garden on the way to the marquee where the wedding ceremony is to take place. Jason Alexander could not prevent the wedding. He has been arrested and is now facing charges of trespassing, vandalism and acts of violence towards Britney Spears’ security guards. Spears’ lawyer was quoted by several gossip sites as saying that Alexander was “freaked out” and needed to be locked up.
Alexander already had a warrant for theft in another county. He has been arrested a number of times in the past, including for drug driving, airport misconduct and stalking an unknown woman.
Alexander had hopes for a new relationship with Spears
Why he wanted to crash the wedding is not clear. But Alexander had made it clear over the past few years that he would like to get back together with Britney Spears. He and Spears had celebrated New Year’s Eve together with friends in Las Vegas 18 years ago and according to Alexander, Spears is said to have asked him there if they wanted to get married. They then secretly rented a limousine and drove to a chapel. Alexander says today they were forced by Spears’ family to call off the wedding immediately afterwards.
Alexander also talked about his ex again and again on his Instagram account, wrote that he picked flowers especially for her or tagged them in posts about his extensive training sessions. On the day of the wedding, he released a confused video in which he listed a number of names, including Sam Asghari and numerous members of the Spears family.
