The industrial complex of the Institut Pasteur de Dakar (IPD) will extend over just over three hectares, not far from the international airport, in the future new town of Diamniadio. The site under construction is surrounded by vast wastelands, dotted with a few baobabs. As June 3 approached, the site teams had to work day and night. This key deadline sealed a loan of 75 million euros from the European Investment Bank (EIB) marked by the on-site visit of a large delegation. “This new vaccine production plant is a crucial project for public health in Senegal and across the continent. It contributes to a better autonomy”, declared the vice-president of the European institution, Ambroise Fayolle, during the signing ceremony.
