The wedding ceremony was shifted to a resort in Mahabalipuram after the temple authorities informed that more people could not attend the Kovid event. Director Vighanesh Sivan and Nayanthara got married after a seven-year love affair. They fell in love on the set of the movie ‘Nanum Rowdy Than’ which was released in 2015.

The newlyweds had prepared lunch for the inmates of various Agati temples in Tamil Nadu on the occasion of their wedding. Only famous film stars including Rajinikanth and Shah Rukh Khan and close friends and relatives attended the wedding. Actor Dileep from Malayalam cinema was present.
