Kochi: Opposition leader VD Satheesan has demanded that the government explain why the Vigilance chief ADGP MR Ajith Kumar was removed by an order issued last night. He said the government was taking steps to confirm the opposition’s allegations that there were suspicions surrounding the revelation of the accused in the gold smuggling case.
The former journalist who tried to settle the case was acting as an instrument of the police. The state vigilance chief called him 33 times. He said in the morning that he had given a good statement and tried to withdraw his statement given in court as per the instructions of the police. The Director of Vigilance will not attempt to withdraw the statement and abduct another accused without the knowledge of the Chief Minister or the Chief Minister’s Office.
Police are yet to question the former mediator who acted as mediator. Why are the police not ready to question the accused in the gold smuggling case who was abducted from the flat like goons? He did not do so because he was a government intermediary. Attempts to mediate failed miserably. This is a shame for Kerala.
Why is the Chief Minister traveling so safely, bothering the public? No UDF member has stoned the Chief Minister of Kerala as the CPM stoned former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy. In Kottayam, there is a road dispute between the police and the people. Why is the Chief Minister so afraid? Isn’t he the one who walked among the drawn swords? Who is such a man afraid of? If the UDF leaders had told the media persons to come an hour earlier and not to wear black masks, the media would have boycotted the event.
The government and the Chief Minister have lost their balance after the statement of the accused in the gold smuggling case came out. The government and the people associated with the government lost their balance. The media and the people are intimidated by fear and terror and are frightened when they see the black mask. Something serious is about to happen. The opposition’s allegations that there is suspicion, that the government is intimidated and addicted to this, and that the police are interfering illegally, are now proving to be true. Who is the Chief Minister afraid of? Why bother people with such great security. Pinarayi Vijayan, who was walking among the drawn swords, now what is fear and addiction?
The Chief Minister and the government are going the wrong way without seeking legal redress. The Chief Minister should not remain silent any longer. We have an obligation to tell people everything openly. It is not possible to escape by making a statement with the party secretary and repeating the constant refrain of conspiracy. The BJP is not silent either. BJP leaders need to explain why the central agencies have not launched an inquiry.
