[Mis à jour le 11 juin à 14h10] They are 6,293 candidates, spread across 577, who hope to become deputies after the second round of the legislative elections on Sunday June 19. This is nearly 1,700 candidates less than in 2017, when there were 7,900. First, they will try to pass the course of the first round, from this Sunday, June 12. To find your way around, we have prepared a map and a search engine for you.
To find your constituency and the list of candidates therein for the legislative elections, simply enter the name of the commune in which you are registered on the electoral lists in the search engine below. You will thus be able to easily identify your voting zone, as well as the various candidates who presented themselves there for the 2022 legislative elections, as well as their political color. All you have to do is go to a polling station on June 12th.
Legislative elections concern the whole of France, but take the form of 577 elections in total, in 577 constituencies. These are numbered by department and vary according to population: from a single constituency for the less populated departments such as Creuse, up to 21 constituencies for the much denser Nord department. This map gives access to the list of constituencies for each department.
In Paris and other big cities like Toulouse or Nice, the legislative elections bend to a particular configuration. The largest communes are in fact themselves divided into several constituencies. Many candidates are therefore in the running in each of these cities, even if the voters will ultimately only have about ten ballots in their polling stations. (Almost) everyone can stand for parliamentary elections. It is mandatory, first of all, to be of legal age. According to the Electoral Code, to stand as a candidate for the legislative elections, a number of conditions must be met: be of legal age on the day of the election; enjoy their civic rights; not be in a case of incapacity or ineligibility provided for by law. Also, to be a candidate, it is necessary to file a declaration of candidacy in the prefecture for each ballot. And it is already far too late if you wish to apply: for the first round, the declarations of candidacy had to be submitted from Monday May 16 to Friday May 20, 2022. For the second round, the submission of applications – for the qualified – is possible June 13 and 14, 2022.
The declaration of candidacy must contain the following particulars: surname, first names, sex, date and place of birth, domicile, profession of the candidate; surname, first names, gender, date and place of birth, domicile, profession of the candidate’s replacement; constituency in which the application is made; candidate’s signature. It must be accompanied by the written acceptance of the replacement.
A candidate is not obliged, on the other hand, to appear on the electoral list of one of the municipalities of the legislative constituency he is aiming for. The candidate must also provide documents to prove that he has appointed a financial agent.
