The Norwegian Chess Series recently took place. Former world champion Viswanathan Anand took 3rd place in the classical round of the series. Pragyananda, a young Tamil Nadu player who played in Group A, won the title. Another Indian player Chandiban Chanda also participated in the series.
Viswanathan Anand posted a selfie photo of the three on Twitter. ‘Chess brothers go to dinner with brother,’ he said in the post. This photo is going viral on the internet.
The 44th Chess Olympiad will be held on July 28 in Chennai. It is attended by players from 187 countries. The logo for the series was unveiled by Chief Minister M.K. Published by Stalin. He also released a horse-shaped logo for the series, naming it ‘Brother’.
