Smallpox monkeys, new discovery at Spallanzani

Smallpox of monkeys, a new important discovery at Spallanzani in Rome which, first in the world, revealed how the responsible virus can be present in the seminal fluid of a person affected by the disease and in a form capable of replicating itself. Further studies underway to understand the mechanisms of human-to-human transmission.
