‘Vikram’ starring Kamal has surpassed the previous Vijay and Ajith films.
‘Vikram’, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and starring Kamal Haasan, Bahadur Basu and Vijay Sethupathi, is set to release on June 3.
Composed by Anirudh, the film stars Surya in the lead role. The film was well received by the fans from the first day of its release.
All the theaters in Tamil Nadu are overflowing with fans for more than 10 consecutive days. ‘Vikram’ grossed Rs 32 crore in India alone on its first day of release; Globally, it reached Rs 48.68 crore. Later, the film grossed over Rs 100 crore in India alone within 3 days of its release. It has grossed over Rs 150 crore globally.
Ten days after the release of the film, ‘Vikram’ has reached Rs 300 crore worldwide, according to some film business analysts. Still others say it has crossed Rs 250 crore and is approaching Rs 300 crore.
However, before ‘Vikram’, Ajith’s strength was at the top of the list with over Rs 200 crore. Next in line was Vijay’s ‘Beast’, which grossed over Rs 150 crore. Currently, Kamal’s ‘Vikram’ is approaching Rs 300 crore, breaking the record of these two films.
Rajinikanth’s’ Enthiran, released in 2010, has grossed over Rs 300 crore worldwide. Next to that, Rajini broke her own record by collecting Rs 320 crore with the film ‘Kabbali’ released in 2016. Similarly, Rajini has set a world record of Rs 700 crore worldwide with the release of the 2.0 film in 2018.
In that sense, ‘Vikram’ is ranked 4th after Rajini in ‘2.0’, ‘Kabali’ and ‘Endhiran’.
