Anderson set the record during the second Test against New Zealand. In New Zealand’s second innings, Anderson took the wicket of opener and skipper Tom Latham for 650.
Anderson is only the third bowler to take 650 wickets in Test cricket. Australia’s Shane Warne and Sri Lanka’s Muttiah Muralitharan have previously achieved this feat. Both are spinners. But the cricket world can only say that it is a miracle that a fast bowler can achieve this feat. Anderson, 39, is still England’s bowling spearhead at this age.
New Zealand scored 553 in the first innings of the second Test while England scored 539 in reply. England won the first Test.
