Ahmed Abed signed today (Wednesday) for one season in the uniform of the newcomer to the Premier League, Bnei Reina. The 32-year-old striker actually returns to the Premier League after playing for his youth team, my brother Nazareth, for the past two years. Last season he scored 10 goals and cooked up 8 more.
Abed was previously considered one of the most prominent attacking games in Israel, when he excelled at Kiryat Shmona, won a championship and a trophy with her, and played with her in European settings. At that time he was also invited to the Israeli team.
In January 2018 he moved to Girsonspor in the Turkish sub-league and after about half a season he moved to Hapoel Tel Aviv. Ahead of the 2019/20 season, Abed was released from Hapoel Tel Aviv despite holding a contract, and entered into a long arbitration process that ended in a compromise. In January 2020, he returned for a short period in Kiryat Shmona before joining my brother Nazareth in the summer.
