It said, “C-B and 5G services will be launched at some airports from July. When the 5G service is launched, the signals it receives penetrate the aircraft’s altimeter. This altimeter is an instrument that measures how high an aircraft can fly. This is what is used for landing during bad weather. When the 5G service interferes with the signals of this device, the aircraft may have trouble landing. This is what happened earlier this year.
Therefore, all airlines should be prepared to upgrade the security features so that the bandwidth of 5G service is not compromised within the radio altimeter.
When the bandwidth is strong on 5G service, some low-flying aircraft may not be able to get the assistance they need to land at airports with the help of an altimeter. The airline’s chief executive was warned on January 17 that the launch of the 5G service would cause serious problems for the airlines.
The 5G service was scheduled to launch on January 19 near various airports. However, due to pressure from the White House, the service was agreed to begin on July 5.
Therefore, aircraft must make the necessary arrangements so that the C-P band and 5G wireless service do not interfere with the aircraft’s radio altimeter. Work is currently underway to identify which airports the signals will have minimum interruptions and maximum interruptions. He said.
