Wirtshauswiesn in Munich replaces Oktoberfest due to Corona

by time news

Despite the renewed cancellation of the Oktoberfest due to the corona pandemic, the Oktoberfest atmosphere arises in Munich on Saturday – the originally planned kick-off date. Downtown and Oktoberfest hosts have invited to the Wirtshauswiesn in over 50 restaurants. They want to decorate their restaurants in the style of Oktoberfest tents by October 3rd.

There will also be Oktoberfest festivities in other inns with music, Oktoberfest beer and traditional costumes. Virtual Oktoberfest tours are also intended to keep fans interested. On the online tours through the Theresienwiese, a Wiesn expert is there live to answer questions.

There are again Corona test tents instead of Oktoberfest festival tents on Theresienwiese. As in the previous year, there is no alcohol ban there. In addition, several demonstrations have been registered on the Oktoberfest grounds. There should be another Oktoberfest in 2022.
