Hyderabad: Clashes broke out between Congress workers and police during a march to the Raj Bhavan to protest the interrogation of Rahul Gandhi in the National Herald case. A video of former Union Minister Renuka Chaudhary grabbing a police officer by the collar while arresting and removing the leaders has gone viral on social media.

Renuka told the media that she was angry and grabbed her by the police for pushing the women away during the rush hour. They also said that the sudden attack from behind provoked the activists.

The police should show restraint in the ongoing struggle of the Congress leaders. Renuka took to Twitter to say that activists should not be treated rudely and that they should not be expected to endure it and remain calm.

During the march to Raj Bhavan, TPCC President Revanth Reddy and Congress leader Mallu Bhatti were also taken into police custody.

The ED is investigating allegations of money laundering in the acquisition of liabilities and shares of Associated Journal Limited, the operator of the National Herald, by a company called Young India Limited.

The Congress had responded that the case was politically motivated and that it was abusing the investigative agencies.
