The remains of Phillips, 57, a contributor to The Guardian newspaper, were in an area identified by fisherman Amarildo da Costa de Oliveira, known as ‘Pelado’, who on Tuesday confessed to having buried the bodies in the jungle, near the city. of Atalaia do Norte.

The next day, ‘Pelado’, one of the two suspects captured for the crime, led the authorities to the place where he buried them.

The police found the human remains there and transferred them by plane to Brasilia on Thursday, where this Friday they are still under analysis, “to establish the causes of death, as well as to indicate the dynamics of the crime and the concealment of the bodies,” he added. The authority.
