The Ministry of Health advised patients with persistent symptoms of GERD to see a doctor.
The ministry indicated that the symptoms of GERD that require a visit to the doctor include heartburn for two or more days per week, or when you feel difficulty swallowing food or liquids.
She indicated that these symptoms also include persistent nausea or vomiting, weight loss due to poor appetite, or when symptoms persist despite the use of medications.
