Construction of a private school near Thiruvananthapuram-Thiruvananthapuram is underway. The contract for this has been taken over by a private company from Chennai. Complaints went to the Department of Labor that boys were being involved in construction work. A team led by Assistant Inspector Tamilarasan of the Labor Department conducted the inspection. A 14-year-old boy from Bihar was found to be working in centering. Authorities who rescued the boy lodged a complaint with the Thiruvananthapuram police. The contractor filed a lawsuit against the school under the Child Labor Prohibition Act.
