On Wednesday June 15, the soap opera of 13 Heures presents an exceptional coffee. In Lacanau, in Gironde, the Maritime café attracts with its view of the ocean and its quality restaurant.

At the Café maritime de Lacanau (Gironde), the shot starts at sunset. The terrace, with its breathtaking view of the ocean, fills up quickly. The team takes care of 240 covers and customers are in a hurry. “It’s a place that is rather relaxing and soothing and especially at the end of the day, when you are lucky enough to be able to have a sunset”, says a woman. Opened 11 years ago, the café replaces a restaurant. “There was a house next door (…) in which, when we were young, we lived as a seasonal worker. And now we are at the head of it all, it’s a great story”says Fabien Rousset, manager of the Café maritime.

With 25,000 euros in turnover per day, the 80 employees are busy. The high-end menu also serves products from the beach café. Everything is homemade and the restaurant is full, even in winter. “It is very important for the customers (…) fresh fish, even meat, which really comes from France”assures Romuald Gourbesville, chef of the Café maritime.
