An alarm was sounded on Saturday night in the localities of Zikim, Karmia, Netiv HaAsara, Mavkiim, and in the southern industrial area of ​​Ashkelon – after a rocket was fired from the Gaza Strip towards Ashkelon.

No casualties were reported following the shooting.

In response, this morning attacked the Strip. Among the sites bombed by Palestinians were Hamas ‘Salah a-Din’ base and the Zeitun neighborhood east of Gaza.

An IDF spokesman confirmed that Air Force fighter jets and aircraft attacked weapons production workshops and three Hamas military positions in the Gaza Strip.

One of the targets that was bombed this morning is a Hamas position that was established about a month ago, a few meters from the perimeter fence of the settlement of Nativ HaAsara.

Following the shooting, Defense Minister Bnei Gantz decided to freeze the increase in the quota of permits for work and trade for Palestinians living in the Gaza Strip, which was increased by another 2,000 last week.

“The terrorist organization Hamas bears responsibility for everything that is done in and out of the Gaza Strip towards the State of Israel and it will bear the consequences,” his office said.
