Beijing: A huge fire broke out at a chemical plant in Shanghai, China. One person was reported killed. The fire broke out at around 4am local time yesterday at one of the largest refining and petrochemical plants in the city of Jinshan. The cause of the fire, which affected the ethylene glycol system in the plant, is not clear. The plant is controlled by Sinopec, a company controlled by the Chinese government. Residents up to 6 km from the plant reportedly heard the blast. Chinese media reported that the fire was under control.
