New Delhi,

Elon Musk is one of the richest men in the world. He is currently the CEO of Tesla Car Company. Tesla’s cars are imported and sold in many countries around the world. However, Musk continues to say that the federal government should reduce its import duty on Tesla cars sold in India.

Elon Musk has stated that he will not manufacture products in India until Tesla first allows cars to be sold and serviced in India.

Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Mahendra Nath Pandey spoke on the occasion.

Mahendra Nath Pandey on Tesla and Musk:

The government led by Prime Minister Modi is making rapid progress on the ‘Atmanirbar Bharat’ policy. In that we are not going to compromise in any way. Welcome to Tesla and Elon Musk-Guy India. But only in accordance with the policies of the country. They must follow the legal plans of the state.

Thus he spoke.

Currently, India imposes a 100 per cent import duty on fully imported cars worth over US $ 40,000 (CIF (cost, insurance and freight)).
