The humorous American animated series Bob Sponge is one of the most successful and beloved children’s series in history. Cameron Bernstein, a research fellow at the New York Institute for Yiddish, has been exposed to a Yiddish translation of the opening song translated by Eddie Portnoy, exhibition director and academic advisor at the Institute for Jewish Research in Manhattan.
Cameron decided to carry it out and upload it to her ticketing account. So in case you were wondering, the words ‘SpongeBob SquarePants’ in Yiddish sound like this: “SpongeBob SquarePants”.

The series was created by marine biologist and animator Steven Hillenburg for the American Nickelodeon network and first aired on the United States’ Nickelodeon Channel on May 1, 1999.
