Pleasant sweating: a huge (and free!) Yoga event on the occasion of International Yoga Day

by time news

About eight years ago, the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, announced the 21st of June as International Yoga Day. Coincidentally or not, it is also today with the most hours of the day. The idea was received with open arms (or rather, in Namaste) around the world, so practitioners from all over the world mark on this day their appreciation for yoga by singing, practicing the poses, meditations and even eating Indian food, because why not actually?

In Tel Aviv, the city that has long fallen in love with the winding poses and the long-awaited Shavasna, the day is marked by an invested event in the station complex in collaboration with the Tel Aviv Municipality. The event will begin at 6:30 PM with mantra singing with Narian Jotti (Ron Paz) accompanied by Yaron Peer and Shai Bachar. After a ceremony in the presence of the Indian Ambassador to Israel and the Mayor of Tel Aviv-Yafo, yoga practices will be conducted by the Indian teacher Uday Kumar Sama, as well as the well-known and beloved teacher Eyal Tchanovsky. Finally, there will be a DJ performance to close the longest day of the year. The event will also be accompanied by Indian cuisine, just do not eat before practice, yes?

This year’s festival will be particularly historic and exciting, as it marks 75 years of India’s independence and 30 years of the establishment of full diplomatic relations between India and Israel. On this festive occasion, Yoga Day in Tel Aviv was chosen by a global initiative, as a major event that will be broadcast live by the State Indian TV Channel (DD), alongside a variety of selected yoga events around the world. .
