BEIJING: Unprecedented summer rains in southern China’s provinces have flooded several cities. The streets were flooded with rainwater. Small houses and cars were swept away in the flood. It rained heavily in many places for the first time in 60 years. As a result, many villages have been severely affected by the floods. In this situation, the rescue team is intensifying the rescue work for the people affected by the rains. Five people have been killed in a house collapse in Guangxi province. Similarly, the city of Poshan in Guangdong province was hit by a severe hurricane. The trees were uprooted and there was a power outage in many places. Numerous vehicles were damaged. No casualties were reported, however, officials said.
