Chennai: Cooperative Banks should take action to ensure that the people are banks and all services are available to the poor, Cooperatives and Food Secretary Radhakrishnan said.
He also reviewed crop loan waivers, self-help group loans and jewelery loan waiver schemes. Advised.
He said all the projects announced by the Minister of Cooperatives should be completed in advance. He advised the co-operative banks to expand their business to compete with the commercial banks and to carry out all the services provided by the commercial banks. He urged the co-operative banks to keep in mind that they are ‘people’s banks’ and take steps to ensure that the poor get all the services. Thus it is said.
