Earlier this week, a serious indictment was filed against Defin Paramal, a 34-year-old foreign worker from India, who attacked a 93-year-old ultra-Orthodox man on several occasions at his home in the Geula neighborhood of Jerusalem.
Now, we are publishing the documentation from the security cameras that the family has placed in the house, after they suspected the employee that he was abusing their father. The documentation revealed to them the horror of how he used to abuse and beat their father.
According to the indictment, filed by Advocate Eyal Lidani of the Jerusalem District Attorney’s Office, Dipin picked up the elderly man with both hands while he was sitting on his bed in the bedroom of his home, and slapped him on the bed, causing the elderly person pain. The defendant clasped the victim’s hands tightly on his body, closing his mouth with his hand.
Another indictment states that a few days later the defendant ordered the elderly man to lock his shoes, and when Hela did not do so, Define severely beat the elderly man and ordered him to lock his shoes again. At this point, the defendant put his shoes on the elderly man, twisted his hands tightly, pushed him in the back and took him out of the bedroom while causing him pain.
In another case, which was also described in the indictment, the defendant slapped the elderly man herself on the bed, hit him hard, pinched his cheek, covered his mouth with a blanket and pressed him, while the elderly man shouted and held his face as a result of the pain caused by the acts.
The indictment attributes to the defendant committing helpless assault offenses causing actual bodily harm. Following the filing of the indictment, the Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court extended his detention until the end of the legal proceedings against him.
