by time news

A new era of diagnostics opens for the Nemo Clinical Center in Trento thanks to the new ultrasound system donated by Aisla, the Italian Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Association, on the occasion of the World Day that celebrates hope for the community of ALS patients all over the world . An action made possible thanks to the collaboration between Aisla and Sparkasse which, through the funds raised, provided concrete and direct support of 35 thousand euros used by the Association for the purchase of latest generation equipment.

The ultrasound system will allow fundamental help to improve, in a timely and non-invasive way, the diagnostics of the disease “this tool underlines the importance of time, which is a fundamental element for a patient suffering from neuromuscular diseases”, underlines Riccardo Zuccarino, director of the Nemo Clinical Center Trento, thanks to the new instrumentation it will be possible to intervene early in the management of patients’ respiratory insufficiency, linked to the progressive weakening of the respiratory muscles and diaphragmatic dysfunction.

A moment of pride and gratitude towards the community that achieves the objectives for which Aisla was founded and operates, that is to give value to the person with ALS and to provide concrete support for research, assistance and support for families. “A common goal that reminds us how much ‘we’ make the difference. Great progress has been made in research and support for the care of people with ALS, but it is still not enough”, comments Fulvia Massimelli, national president Aisla.
