Vijay Mallya, the former owner of Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League (IPL), shared a photo taken with West Indies cricketer Chris Gayle on Twitter. Gayle played for RCB from 2011 to 2017.
“I’m glad to meet my good friend Christopher Henry Gayle in the Universe language. We have been good friends since I took him to the RCB team. The best star player is Gayle,” said Vijay Mallya.

This tweet has received over 13,000 ‘likes’ and 500 retweets since Mallya posted. Gayle played for the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2009 and 2010. He was then signed as a replacement player by the RCB in 2011 and has since evolved into one of the best players to ever play in the IPL. Gayle played for the Punjab Kings shortly after the RCB. However, he did not register his name in the IPL 2022 auction.
Gayle has played in 142 IPL matches with an amazing strike rate of 148.96 and 4965 runs at an average of 39.72. In 2013, he scored an unbeaten 175 against the Pune Warriors in T20 cricket. He is expected to play again in IPL 2023 next year.
