The Israeli Development Center is located in Airport City.

Last February, the company reported a significant increase in the number of employees in 2021 – which was probably in its infancy, and has now led it to lay off several dozen employees.

The company stated: “Airspan has a significant and strong backlog of orders, but the global component crisis creates a supply chain problem for the entire industry and for us. The supply chain problems affect the company’s ability to deliver products to customers on time and therefore revenue and profits. Address this challenge while adjusting our operating costs, streamlining and improving processes.

“As part of this, the company is entering a cost reduction process focusing on sources unrelated to the workforce. However, unfortunately it also had to make a certain reduction in manpower. Since the beginning of the year about 15 employees left the initiative (resigned). “Organizational change that includes the dismissal of about 35 employees, out of about 300 employees in our development center in Israel. It is important for us to take care of employees who are fired and we work to help them find new jobs.”

The company was founded as RDC Israel and in 1999 was acquired by Markoni Israel. In 2002, the development center was sold to British Airspan.
