The Jeddah Astronomical Society said that an astronomical phenomenon is being observed in the sky of the Kingdom and the Arab world, before dawn tomorrow, Thursday, June 23, and can be seen with the naked eye.

The association explained that the phenomenon is the conjunction of the moon and the planet Mars, where they will be separated by about 2 degrees on the southeast horizon, in a phenomenon that can be seen with the naked eye.

And this is not the first time that the moon’s conjunction with Mars has occurred. Observers of astronomical phenomena saw this conjunction during the month of February.

Given its small size, Mars is only 6,790 km in diameter, making it just over half the size of Earth (12,750 km in diameter).

The moon and Mars are observed about 3 hours before sunrise, towards the southeast horizon, and because the apparent distance between the moon and Mars is wide, they will not appear together in the telescope’s field of view, but this can be done through binoculars.
