RIO DE JANEIRO: A 50-year-old man who can stand for at least 10 seconds on one leg is at risk of death within 10 years, according to a study published in the British journal Sports Medicine.

It said: In Brazil, 1,702 people were studied for their 50-year-old body mass. This was done by scholars from Brazil, the United States, Finland, Australia, and the United Kingdom. Three times they were given a chance. One in five of them was found to be unable to stand. Such people are at risk of slipping and falling. Due to their weak legs they are at risk of falling and dying in the next 10 years.

Trainers who stand on one leg every day are less likely to fall and die easily because their legs are stronger. Globally, 6.80 lakh people die every year from slipping and falling legs.
