Washington: The US Congress has passed a resolution calling on the Secretary of State to declare India a country of particular concern over the violation of religious freedom. The resolution was introduced by Ilhan Omar, a woman member of the Democratic Congress who continues to take an anti-India stance.

Congress women members Rashida Talib and Juan Vargas supported it. The U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom had recommended that India be declared a special country for three years.
