Mumbai: The Shiv Sena has decided to face the BJP’s coup attempt in the Assembly after all the compromises failed. Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray will not resign from the post of Chief Minister.

Maha Vikas Aghadi has decided to contest the confidence vote. On Thursday, the Shiv Sena leadership had vowed to persuade the rebels to withdraw from the grand alliance. But that too was rejected by Eknath Shinde. It was then that the Grand Alliance leadership decided not to give in to the threats of the rebels and to confront them in the Assembly.

After talking to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Pawar told reporters that he would fight to the best of his ability to protect the grand alliance. Uddhav also came out with an alternative move. The Shiv Sena has submitted a letter to the Deputy Speaker asking him to disqualify the rebels. Uddhav also gave whips to 12 rebel MLAs.
