The World Swimming Championships continued today (Friday) in Budapest, Hungary and the Israeli representatives achieved great results, with Michael Leitrovsky and Anastasia Gurbanko qualifying for the semi-finals, each in his own ointment.

Leitrovsky achieved an excellent result in the 50-meter backstroke, stopping the clock at 25.08 seconds, finishing third in his end and 12th overall, while Gorbanko stopped the clock at 30.82 in the 50-meter breaststroke, finishing third in her end and in place. The 13th in total. In the semifinals, Gorbanko finished fifth in her end and ninth in the overall standings, causing her to miss the final ticket in a single place.

Even before that, the Israeli day in the pool was opened by the young swimmer Daria Golovti, who competed in the 50-meter freestyle. Golovti finished second in her ointment, stopping the clock at 25.97 seconds, but that was not enough for her to advance to the semi-finals, and she finished in 24th place overall. In the relay (4×100 meter freestyle mixed), the Israeli team that includes Tomer Frenkel, Ron Polonsky, Leah Polonsky and Daria Golovti recorded a result of 3.30.34 seconds, finished in 12th place and failed to qualify for the final.
