Screen Review: Mayon | Maayon movie review

by time news

Mayon Hill, famous for its majestic Krishna Temple, is believed to be over a thousand years old. Archaeologist Devaraj (Harish Perady) finds out that there is a treasure in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple and plans to take it and sell it abroad. Arjun (Sibiraj), a young officer from the same department, comes forward with a group of his friends to lend a hand to his project. But the rest of the story is whether the group was able to overcome the obstacles and mysteries created by the ancestors to prevent the alien invaders from looting the treasure.

Kishore has directed the film, which is scripted and produced by Arunmozhi Manikkam. The screenplay is set with equal emphasis on both spirituality and science mixed with the occult. At the same time, they intelligently leave it to the viewer’s conclusion whether the cause of everything that happens in the story field is spiritual or scientific.

The film begins with an insect-like drone that sits upright, beginning with a scene of introspection on the womb.

In order to preserve the rare treasures buried in the temples, it is an admirable aspect to realize the intellect of the ancient Tamils who have created many myths related to them.

The final twist (twist) in front of the protagonist is portrayed with authenticity.

Sibiraj fits the character perfectly. Tanya Ravichandran, KS Ravikumar and Radharavi are doing exactly the job given to them. Ilayaraja’s background music is a great strength to the film as it sounds modern in scenes where the scientific knowledge of the protagonist is revealed and melts in the occult scenes.

In a treasure hunt story, the writer and director try to combine science, spirituality and the occult into a mixed entertaining film. In that sense, this ‘mayon’ would have been even more interesting if it had included many credible twists in the treasure hunt.
