Sharjah: Sharjah police have arrested a 20-year-old woman in connection with the discovery of her body inside a car within two hours. The girl’s mother had lodged a complaint with the police that she had not been seen since noon on Friday.

According to the complaint, a person who had a dispute with their family abducted their daughter from the parking lot of the building where they were staying. Police then launched an investigation. Police found a CCTV camera in the parking lot showing the woman being assaulted and stabbed several times inside the vehicle. The accused fled the scene with the body in the woman’s car.

Col. Faisal bin Nasser, deputy director of the Criminal Investigation Division, said the car and body were found during the investigation. The team then conducted a search and apprehended the accused within 120 minutes. The accused was hiding on the beach to avoid being caught by the police.
