Guilty Gear Strive v1.19 patch notes seem to reduce the chances of Season 2 DLC being revealed this weekend…but not quite

Will we get a new teaser or trailer in CEO 2022?

While Guilty Gear Strive was a great Season 2 update earlier this month, the balance and mech tweaks were not paired with a new character DLC, leaving players wondering when the first part of the second season pass will arrive.

With CEO 2022 coming to an end this weekend, many fans were hoping to see this character announcement during the Strive finale, but the recently released 1.19 patch notes for the upcoming update suggest otherwise — it’s certainly not impossible.

According to Arc System Works, the worm. Patch 1.19.0 will only contain a few bug fixes for May, Faust, Zato-1, Ramlethal and I-No with no new characters mentioned explicitly.

Given that the update is scheduled for next Friday, July 1, it seems like now would have been the perfect time to drop the first downloadable content for Season 2 if it were revealed to the CEO.

The relatively large amount of work and resources required to test, approve, and release individual video game updates makes it unreasonable to expect others in such rapid succession.

If a Strive fighter was new in our near future, ArcSys would have bundled the updates together.

While the CEO would be basically the perfect place to make a big announcement, it also makes sense that the studio would want to refrain from showing anything for Guilty Gear for now so it doesn’t distract from DNF Duel. Few days on June 28.

We’re definitely not going to sit here and say there’s no way to show Strive DLC this weekend, because there’s still a good chance we’ll end up seeing something, even if it does.

Going back to CEO 2021 at the end of last year, ArcSys only provided a short teaser file for Bacon’s arrival at GGST while the actual gameplay will come out a month later.

There may be a very similar situation ahead of us Sunday night in the Strive finale, although ArcSys and Alex Jebailey have been quiet to tease anything so far.

Since most of the character announcements for Strive so far have been related to the major tournaments, the next most likely place to watch the game’s Season 2 fighter won’t be until Evo 2022 in August.

Obviously, we’ll definitely find out on Sunday night, but we’re just suggesting that you don’t expect anything big just yet.
