Last week, the final of the Bible quiz was held by the Jewish Culture Department at the Kiryat Ata community center network.
During the year, fifth graders studied for the quiz, held school competitions and qualified 12 students for the final stage. The learning process and the competition were moderated and coordinated by Neria Pinchas, who previously won the World Bible Quiz. The judging panel included Yehuda Yitzhaki, Shimon Dadon and Ora Koren.
Neria Magor from Noam School won first place, Oded Ben Nun from Yavneh School won second place, Orid Ben Nun from Yavneh School and Neria Malka from Noam School won third place.
Also outstanding were Michal Bezeq from Givat Alonim School, Noam Weinberger from Givat Tal School, and Liam Shachar from Pinsker School.
The mayor congratulated the students and said that: “Despite being ancient in days, the study of the Bible produces and renews each time additional insights and forms the basis for an in-depth discussion of topics at the height of man and world. I think the ability to understand the Bible is a key tool that every student in Israel needs to master in order to know and understand our place as individuals and as a people.
